We finally got Seedance 2.5 preview live on Influencer Studio!
Currently its 720p only, but the initial tests are super impressive.
What actually changed in Seedance 2.5
ByteDance announced Seedance 2.5 on stage at its Volcano Engine FORCE conference on June 23, 2026, and it's a bigger jump than the point-release number suggests. The headline change is duration: Seedance 2.0 topped out around 15 seconds in a single pass, and 2.5 doubles that to 30 seconds of continuous video, scene changes and tempo shifts included, without stitching separate generations together.
The reference budget got a similar overhaul. Where 2.0 handled roughly 9 images and a handful of video or audio clips, 2.5 accepts up to 50 combined references in one generation (up to 30 images, 10 video clips, and 10 audio tracks). ByteDance also added region-level editing, so you can fix a background detail or swap a product angle without re-rolling the whole clip, plus native support for 10+ languages for captioning and lip-sync, and a 3D block-out previsualization mode for planning shots before you spend a generation on them. ByteDance's own figures claim roughly 20% better prompt adherence over 2.0, though that's a vendor number with no independent methodology behind it yet.

None of that 4K, 50-reference version is what we're testing below. What's live on Influencer Studio right now is the 720p preview, and even at that capped resolution the jump over 2.0 is obvious the moment you watch the clips side by side.

Seedance 2.0 actually did a pretty good job, but the 720p version doesn't look quite as "high def" as the Seedance 2.5 also at 720p.
It almost looks as if she upgraded from a camera phone to a digital camera. But it looks real.
Just for comparison sakes, we also did Minimax h3. The difference is pretty staggering, and they also messed up her face.
Action sequences with Seedance 2.5
@Element1 and @Element2 engage in a battle in a futuristic stadium. Shaw brothers choreography. They both have power ups in one form or another. Flashing lights.
And comparing that to a similar sequence we made with Seedance 2.0
It just has less of that "AI" look and looks more like real cinematic video. Some of that comes down to the stadium action sequence pushing well past what 2.0's ~15-second ceiling could hold in one shot without a visible seam.

What this means if you're picking a model right now
Seedance 2.0 isn't obsolete. It's still a proven, production-ready model with a stable API and it independently topped video model leaderboards for text-to-video and image-to-video before 2.5 even existed. If your clips fit inside its ~15-second, smaller-reference limits, it's still a fully competitive choice and it's what's actually live and callable today at full resolution.
Seedance 2.5 is the one to reach for once longer single-shot takes, heavier reference sets, or frame-level edits matter more than speed to production. Full API access and the 4K tier are still rolling out, so treat everything above the 720p preview as what's coming, not what you can generate yet on Influencer Studio.
