Why Is AI Image or Video Generation Taking So Long?

If you're experiencing longer than expected wait times when generating AI images, there are several common reasons why this might be happening.

Common Causes of Slow Image Generation

Server Load

When many users are generating images at the same time, our servers can become busy, which increases processing time for everyone. Peak usage times may result in longer waits.

We aggregate multiple API sources, which can cause one to have an issue depending on which one you're using. In those cases, it could be an issue with our upstream provider.

Detailed Prompts

The more detailed and complex your prompt is, the longer it takes for the AI to process and generate your image. While detailed prompts can produce better results, they require more computational resources.

Quality Settings

Higher resolution and quality settings require significantly more processing power. If you've selected:

  • High resolution output

  • Maximum quality settings

  • Advanced rendering options

Your image will take longer to generate compared to standard settings.

Content Restrictions

If your prompt contains elements that trigger our content filters or restrictions, the system may need additional time to process and validate the request.

Tips to Speed Up Generation

  • Simplify your prompt: Use clear, concise descriptions instead of extremely detailed ones

  • Adjust quality settings: Consider using standard resolution for faster results

  • Try off-peak hours: Generate images during less busy times if possible

  • Review your prompt: Ensure it doesn't contain restricted content that might slow processing
